The Overseas Passenger Terminal situating on the western side of Sydney Cove was opened in January 1961. Earlier the main passenger terminals were at Pyrmont and Woolloomooloo. The Terminal stands on the location of Campbell's Wharf which used to be the principal berth in the earlier years of last century.
