Road: Port Stephens is just two and a half hour's drive north from Sydney via the F3 Freeway, a 45 minutes' drive north from Newcastle, and a 25 minutes' drive from Williamtown. Cars are available on hire from Newcastle and Nelson Bay. There is a daily coach service that departs Eddy Ave, Central Station Sydney for Port Stephens at 2:00 p.m. This departs Port Stephens for Sydney at 9:00 a.m. daily.

Air: There are flights available daily from Brisbane, Canberra, Sydney, Coolangatta, NSW North Coast to Newcastle and Williamtown.

Train: Trains are available to Newcastle from where there are connecting bus services to Port Stephens.
