Location

Lying over 220 kilometres north of Sydney, which is a two and a half hour's drive via the F3 Freeway, and 50 kilometres north of Newcastle, which is a 45 minutes' drive, Port Stephens lies on an area of approximately 104 square kilometres and is larger than Sydney Harbour. Port Stephens is a confluence of seaside villages along the Pacific Ocean coast. Its northern shoreline forms the boundary between Port Stephens and Great Lakes. Port Stephens has a narrow entrance which is a narrow passage between two hills of volcanic origin.
