2012 Australian International Motor Show

The Australian International Motor Show is the recognised industry showcase event, through which vehicle manufacturers choose to display the latest innovations and advances including safety, environmental and vehicle designs to Australian consumers and motoring enthusiasts alike.
The Australian International Motor show (AIMS) is an annual auto show held biennially between Melbourne and Sydney. Both cities have a long running history of motor shows, Melbourne held an annual show from 1925 - 2009 establishing it as Australia’s longest running motor show. From 2004 the Sydney Motor Show adopted the name Australian International Motor Show, this was in respect of the global prestige the show had developed, being recognised globally in the top ten automotive shows.
Prior to the staging of the 2008 Sydney show, the Organisers - the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI) met with the Melbourne motor show organisers - the Victorian Automobile Chamber of Commerce (VACC). It was announced after the culmination of these discussions on February 3rd, 2009 that the FCAI and VACC would partake in a Joint Venture, alternating the show between the two cities. The Australian International Motor Show Joint Venture was hosted last year in Melbourne with Sydney hosting the 2012 event. Tickets will be available on the AIMS website.
