Art & About is an outdoor art festival that brings art to the lanes and streets, nooks and corners, and other public spaces of the city of Sydney. Art & About kick-starts on October 1 with an evening full of fun, music, entertainment and celebration. Sydney Harbour also presents its share of entertainment with live performances of dance and music along with food and fun on Showboats.

Sydney Life, an important event of the festival, is an outdoor exhibition of photographs, along the central walkway of Hyde Park North, featuring the different faces of the real Sydney in all its different moods, tones, emotions and colours. Open Gallery is an exhibition of original aboriginal art in all its hues and shades. You can also witness the traditional Aboriginal Smoking Ceremony. Uncover Oxford Street celebrates music, art and entertainment in the shop front while Shop Yourself Stupid is a charity event through which you can contribute your mite to help the victims of HIV. Laneways: By George! takes you through lanes and around corners surprising you with thought-provoking and novel projects on sustainability by artists, designers, architects and others from various disciplines. I Heart Kings Cross will see Kings Cross, which already has a colourful past and present, brightened up with colourful knitting graffiti on its trees, posts and poles. Live Green House is a program that will give you deep insight into sustainable living.
